Government Programs

My Aged Care (National Gateway)

The starting point for all government-funded aged care. Call to arrange an assessment for Home Care Packages (HCP) or the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).

SA-specific ACAT teams are based at major hospitals including Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

Entry-level support for people who need a small amount of help to stay at home. Includes domestic assistance, social support, transport, meals, nursing, and allied health.

  • Low or no cost (fees are capped and income-tested)
  • No waiting list in most Adelaide metro areas for basic services

DVA Services for Veterans

Adelaide has a significant veteran population, particularly around Edinburgh and Keswick. DVA Gold and White card holders can access community nursing, home modifications, transport, and respite without going through My Aged Care.
