Day-by-Day: What Happens During Your Trial

The trial runs for 7 full days. Here’s what you can expect.

Signup

Set up in 5 minutes

Create your account, enter your parent’s name and phone number, and choose a daily call time that suits their routine. No technical knowledge needed — there is nothing for your parent to install or configure. Their existing landline or mobile is all they need.

Day 1

First call — a warm introduction

The AI introduces itself by name and explains it’ll be checking in each day. The first call is shorter and more introductory — it asks how your parent is feeling, mentions the next call time, and lets them know a family member set this up. You receive a summary report in your dashboard shortly after the call.

Days 2–4

The rhythm establishes

Calls happen at the time you set each day. The AI learns your parent’s name, their common conversation topics, and begins building context across calls. Your dashboard starts showing mood trend data and health indicators (sleep quality, appetite, pain level, activity). You get a notification if a call goes unanswered.

Days 5–6

See the reporting in action

By Day 5 you have enough data to see trends. Check the dashboard: mood trend line, any flagged concerns from calls, health indicators over the week. If your parent mentioned anything concerning — a fall near-miss, a doctor appointment, feeling unwell — it will appear in the call summary from that day.

Day 7

Decide with full information

You’ve seen 7 calls, 7 reports, and a week of trend data. You know whether the service provides the reassurance you needed, whether your parent accepted the calls comfortably, and whether the reports give you useful information. If you want to continue, add a payment method to your account. If not, do nothing — the service simply stops at the end of Day 7.

How to Introduce the First Call to a Hesitant Parent

Some older Australians are initially wary of AI calls — particularly if the concept of “AI” is new to them. Here’s what actually works, based on what families tell us.

Do: Frame it as something you set up for yourself

“I worry about you and I wanted a way to know you’re going well each day. I set up a service that will call you each morning — I’d love it if you’d give it a try.” Framing it around your need for reassurance (not their need for monitoring) lands better.

Don’t: Lead with “AI” or “robot”

Words like “AI”, “automated call”, or “robot” create immediate resistance. The caller is warm and conversational — describe it as “a service that calls to check in on you each day” and let them experience the call first.

Do: Agree on a trial together

“Just try it for a week — if you don’t like it after a week, I’ll cancel it.” This reduces resistance because there’s an exit ramp. Most parents who agree to a week stay long-term because the calls become a comfortable daily routine.

Don’t: Spring the first call as a surprise

Tell your parent to expect a call at a specific time on Day 1. “They’ll call you at 10am tomorrow morning — please pick up.” An unexpected call from an unfamiliar number often goes unanswered or creates anxiety.

What You’ll See in the Dashboard During Your Trial

The family dashboard is available from Day 1. Here’s what appears as calls come in.

📊

Mood trend chart

A line chart showing your parent’s self-reported mood across every call. You’ll see if Day 3 was notably lower, which days they reported feeling well, and any patterns (mornings worse than afternoons, etc.).

📝

Per-call summaries

After each call, a plain-language summary appears: what was discussed, any health concerns mentioned, medication compliance (if tracked), and whether anything warrants follow-up. Calls marked as completed, attempted (no answer), or partially answered.

🚨

Emergency alerts (if triggered)

If the AI detects emergency-level keywords during a call, you receive an immediate SMS and the dashboard flags the call for urgent review. This is real-time, not a daily digest.

📈

Health indicators

Across the trial week, indicators build up: sleep quality, appetite, pain level, social activity, medication mentions. These are extracted from the natural conversation — your parent isn’t filling in forms.
